Per a number of sources on Twitter...UNI's is putting out quite a lot of offers to class of 2017 kids.

Most from Minnesota, Nebraska, Missouri and Wisconsin.

Coaches are really hitting the recruiting trail hard.

Are there any that stick out to you, at least on paper? Also, any in state guys?

Any chance that UNI takes part in the satellite camps with Iowa State? Matt Campbell used these very well when he was at Toledo and joined with Ohio State and Michigan camps.

I thought NCAA ban prohibits joint camps. Does this apply in between divisions, not just FBS? Did the reversal of the decision take everything back to the way it was before this erupted?

I don't know enough about the kids to comment on any that are noteworthy.

But it's the quantity that jumps out. We've gotta have close to 20 offers out...that's just what's showing up on Twitter.

All I know is that Iowa State seemed to go back to its previous plan. However, in a list provided by Chris Williams which he says are likely to be shared, there were two Iowa camps I hadn't heard about before. I had only heard about Addison, TX, but now he reported about Detroit, Tampa, Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Council Bluffs, and Dubuque.

The rule was reversed to the extent it no longer exists - it was only only in place for FBS/FBS coaches. FCS and lower were still allowed.

Samford is hosting one with about 20 other schools joining

J Rima 2016 UNI football recruit has won the 100 200 400 at the 2016 Iowa state track meet! Fountain on one side and Rima on the other--so much for not having any speed at receiver.

Rima will play right away. He can fly, his body is ready.

We're going to pound the hell out of people up front and throw over the top. Return to true UNI football.

If u watch Rima's FB highlight video the defense looks like it's running in quick sand.

Like Bobby Bowden said about Randy Moss...he runs like a scalded dog.

I am looking forward to watching him play. I think he will be good.

But do you honestly think we will be throwing over the top next year any more than the past few?

Well, Bailey has a tendency to throw over the top of most of receivers on long passes. He has the arm, just not any accuracy. Having a jet in the Kenny Shedd/Dedric Ward mold of being able to get down field and run down a pass will be a good thing. Hope we utilize the TE more again as well.

We have all heard: there is speed, and then there is football speed. Hope he's got it, and hands too.

Panthers just picked up a transfer LB out of Florida State.

Tyrell Lyons..6'1" 213 lbs. Former 4* recruit. Played early last year and tore his ACL.

Guessing he'll go at OLB.

He had moved to Safety at FSU.

Assuming the knee is solid, there is one answer in the secondary.

I think he had actually moved from DB to LB for his sophomore season...and then got hurt.

What I read said he had good coverage skills and made 7 tackles vs. Texas State b4 the ACL.

I thought we had a pretty big list announced this winter. Where is the scholarship money coming from?

I'm sure Farley left some dry powder for transfers.

You'd be crazy not to in today's college game.

I like getting a few guys that have two years to play as we have a big senior class and a big freshman class coming in.

Farley and/or Dannen went "on record" a few years ago saying UNI rarely fills all 63 scholarships. The number is usually between 57-59. There is always money left for a transfer in that situation. Also allows for a "surprise scholarship" for a walk on come fall.

Few FCS schools actually give their full allotment. Montana's AD was on record saying they only give 58ish per year. That came out a few years ago when they were hit with the scholarship reduction and they didn't care because they were unused anyway. NDSU, if their fans are to be believed, also gives in that same ranger. I'd be shocked to see any school use all 63 every year.

The vast majority of G5 schools in the FBS don't give their full 85. Most are in the 77-80 range

I don't think I saw this mentioned here yet but Kolton Marlin (WR) out of Keokuk will be joining the football team. Some more size and speed for the receiving corps

I also saw that Jon Nzombo will transfer from Iowa Western to join the Panthers.

Looks like he was their leading rusher last year as a freshmen.

Nice surprise. We're a little thin at RB.

Kid looks quick and physical.

Appears we are really stocking up on Defensive Backs.
Emmett Lynch, a strong safety from Northern Illinois is transferring to UNI.
According to his Twitter account https://mobile.twitter.com/EmmettLynch18

As it is Lynch himself posting on his Twitter account, I think we can safely assume that this not another case of someone confusing UNI with NIU.

Welcome to UNI, Emmett.

Welcome to UNI, Emmett.
ESPN would not consider this a transfer since they don't realize they are two different schools.
