If that is the case then he probably wouldn't be able to handler the academics at UNI anyway.

That's where the recruiting part comes in...right?

      Somebody's gotta sell it.

From what I've read he appears to be headed to the defensive side of the ball.
Tolu has withdrawn hit UNI commitment. Huh.

Most likely he may be just changing his mind. It happens. It's also possible he was being recruited by one of the two assistants who just left. Kids change their mind based on coaches leaving all the time.

Desmond Chapple out of Edwardsville, IL says he's gonna wear the purple next year.

              6'4" 235 lb listed as DE/TE.

Rivals shows him 3* with offers from some MAC and MVFC schools and Wyoming.

Ya gotta hand it to Wyoming...they do get a lot of offers out there.

Interesting how many out of state kids we're getting commitments from early this year. FCOA helping close the deal with these guys?

Looks like Sonny Onken out of Norwalk also committed to UNI over the weekend.

                6'4" 240 lb.

Listed as OLB and TE but not sure where he'll play. Could be DE.

Also had an offer from Pitt. How many kids are turning the ACC down for us?

Lotta big frames coming into Cedar Falls in this class.

Farley put a mandatory 6'2" minimum on recruits this year?

I understand that it happens, just curious why. Good point on it possibly being a coaching change though

I posted this earlier, but Farley put an emphasis on size when he spoke to the PSC this weekend. Speed's important - but he said size still needs to be a factor. He said outside of the MVFC and Midwest, the rest of FCS is a lot smaller than us. And that's not working out too well for them.
"...the Northern Iowa men's basketball team reached the ultimate highs before hitting a devastating low. Unexpected success, followed by unimaginable failure. And they owned it -- all of it -- for the world to see. Like men. Like leaders. Like champions -- in a way no tournament bracket could ever define."

Agree MVFC is a physical mismatch against most of FCS.

MVFC is 115-26 against FCS non-conference since 2011. That's 82% winning percentage...same as SEC in FBS over that time period (per Valley-Football.org).

Went 30-2 in 2014. Not sure what 2015 was.

Last FCS non-conference game UNI lost was in 2011 in playoffs to Montana. Interestingly...that's the same team that got NDSU. And we'll see them in CF on Sept 10th.

Jacksonville State had good size. Pretty much a bunch of SEC-type guys who didn't get to play in the SEC.

Have seen some comments on Twitter about Nick Ellis out of Aplington/Parkersburg being a UNI football commit.

                              But haven't seen anything official.

                              6'5" 270 lb OT/DT.

Can't go wrong with big fellas from AP...can ya?

                                And.......one more for this evening.

Austin Evans out of the KC area.

6'1" 185 lb WR/FS. And it looks like UNI's next kick returner based on the Hudl video.

I would describe his highlights as "dynamic".
