  • Re: Official 2013 Panther Basketball Recruit List

apparently a kid named Conor Lang from Loveland, CO tweeted that he decided to play basketball at UNI. I assume he will be a walk on.

    6-7, 190. Averaged 20 pts 6rbds a game last year.

    48% fg, 83% ft and 38% 3pt.

from the looks of it he is a perimeter shooter.

If true, it seems unusual. When was our last walkon that was not from Iowa. Wonder what the story is? Just seems unusual that we get a walkon from Colorado.

But if true, welcome to UNI

Maybe he's a Bill Smith recruit.

Upon further review, I am fairly certain that he is going to NIACC not here; which makes a lot more sense.

If anyone is basketball starved already and wanting some content on this years incoming recruiting class check out the sit down I had with Coach Crawford. It's not ESPN quality but I give it my college try.

"one of them will redshirt"? interesting

I was assuming Koch, Carlson and Krar would all redshirt.

                            Coach Speak.

Koch and Carlson are both redshirting. I think the other three will play.

It will be interesting as these five join the returners plus the 3 redshirt players from 2012/2013.
Koch has grown to 6'9"+ and will look to redshirt to gain strength and to develop his skills as he grows into his body.
Other four will be evaluated throughout the summer/fall to determine redshirt status by November. And, of course, that decision could change once the season starts and progresses.
