Cats finish them off 6-5 in 13 on a bases loaded walk-off hit.

Second game ends 8-0. What an a__ kicking! Too bad we had one bad, windy weekend. We appear to be the heavy-hitting, best team in the conference. Now one game out of first. Keep it up, ladies!!

UNI wins 2 from MO. St. today, 4-2 and 11-8. The gals hit 7 homers in the 2 games. They are now tied with Wichita st. for 1st place in the conference. Play mo. St. tomorrow for game 3 of the series at noon.

11 runs on 6 hits in the 2nd game. 4 of the 6 hits were HR's. Variano, not usually one of the big hitters, had 2 HR's today. Her second was a line drive rocket over the LF fence. Off-day for Lange in the circle, but nice to still be able to pick up the W.

Unbelieveable, we lose 9 - 8 to Missouri ST today. We had 12 runners LOB. That has to be a record for the Ryan Jacobs era. Buchanan took the loss, only 3 of the Bears runs were earned. Have won 7 of the last 8. 1 game @ Drake, Wed, 6PM. Travel to Carbondale for a 3 game weekend series starting Sat noon.

Information in the Dugout Club newsletter today says they play at Nebraska-Omaha at 4 pm Tuesday also.

Failures to get sweeps against inferior teams will be what costs us the regular season championship, I'm afraid. OTOH, I'd much rather win the MVC tournament and qualify for the NCAA's anyway. Still burns my azz from a few years ago when we had Jamie Fisher and went through the conference like a hot knife through butter, only to get upset 1-0 by SIU in the tournament, ending the season due to the single elimination format.

Aaaaaannnnddd that's a season. Had a bad feeling when I found out the tournament was in Carbondale. Panthers lose 2-1 to a team that was on the verge of not making the tournament a couple of weeks ago. Have to give credit to the Redbird pitcher, who was un-hittable until the 7th. Bailey missed what would have been a game-tying HR by about 18 inches. Then, coach Jacobs elected to hold a runner on third with one out, only for the throw to the plate to be off. A tough call to make, especially when it in effect ends the season. Fortune favors the bold.

Lost Varriano to a finger/hand injury early, so moved B. Krodinger to catcher from 3rd and brought in Crivaro, who had a cumulative total of 2 at-bats in the season. Sometimes it's just not your day.
